That’s not the only war American historians have omitted … there was the Philippine-American war in 1898 that lasted 3 years and cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of Filipinos. The Philippines was the only colony the US ever had.. from1898 to July 4, 1946. This little bit of colonial history is never mentioned in American history textbooks, except in passing,( about 2 paragraphs ).
